Shower Trays

Shower Trays FAQ

What type of shower tray is best?

The best shower tray depends on your bathroom layout, shower enclosure and available space. Rectangular trays work well for larger showers and walk-in styles, square trays are useful for compact bathrooms, and quadrant trays can be a good option for corners and ensuites.

What is a low profile shower tray?

A low profile shower tray is a slimmer tray that sits closer to the floor than a traditional deeper tray. It creates a cleaner, more modern look and is popular for walk-in showers, ensuites and contemporary bathrooms.

Are slate effect shower trays a good idea?

Yes, slate effect shower trays are popular because they add texture and a more premium look to the shower area. They can work well with modern bathroom tiles, stone effect tiles, black shower screens and neutral bathroom schemes.

What size shower tray do I need?

The right shower tray size depends on the space available, the shower enclosure size and how much room you want inside the shower. Compact trays can work well in ensuites, while larger rectangular trays are often chosen for main bathrooms and walk-in shower areas.

What is the best shower tray for a small ensuite?

For a small ensuite, a square shower tray, quadrant shower tray or compact rectangular tray can work well. The best option depends on the room shape, door opening space and where the waste pipe can be positioned.

Can a shower tray be used with a wet room panel?

Yes, shower trays can often be used with wet room panels or walk-in shower screens. This can give you the open look of a walk-in shower while still using a defined tray area.

What colour shower tray should I choose?

White shower trays are classic and easy to match, while slate effect, grey, black or stone-look trays can create a more modern feature. The best colour depends on your tiles, shower screen, brassware and overall bathroom style.

Can I replace just the shower tray?

Sometimes, but it depends on the existing shower enclosure, tiles, plumbing, floor level and waste position. Replacing a shower tray can involve more work than expected, so it is worth getting advice before choosing a new tray.
