Pattern Tiles

Where should I use pattern tiles?

Pattern tiles work well in areas where you want to create a feature, such as a kitchen splashback, bathroom floor, hallway, bootroom, utility room or feature wall. They are a good choice when you want to add character without changing the whole room.

Are pattern tiles too busy for a small room?

Not always. Pattern tiles can work beautifully in small rooms when used in the right place. A patterned floor in a small bathroom, bootroom or hallway can add personality, especially when paired with simple wall colours and plain furniture.

Can I use pattern tiles on a kitchen splashback?

Yes, pattern tiles are a popular choice for kitchen splashbacks. They can add colour and interest behind a hob, sink or worktop and are a good way to make a kitchen feel more designed without tiling the whole room.

Are patterned floor tiles practical?

Yes, patterned floor tiles can be very practical, especially in busy areas like hallways, kitchens, bathrooms and utilities. The pattern can also help disguise small marks between cleaning, which makes them useful for family homes.

What should I pair pattern tiles with?

Pattern tiles usually work best with simpler finishes around them. Pair them with plain wall tiles, neutral floor tiles, simple paint colours, or understated kitchen cabinets and bathroom furniture so the pattern remains the main feature.

Should I use pattern tiles on the wall or floor?

Both can work. Patterned floor tiles are great for bathrooms, hallways and cloakrooms, while patterned wall tiles are ideal for splashbacks, shower features and decorative walls. The best choice depends on where you want the eye to go in the room.

Are pattern tiles modern or traditional?

Pattern tiles can suit both modern and traditional homes. Classic designs can create a vintage or period feel, while geometric, muted or monochrome patterns can look more contemporary.
