Bathroom Taps

Which tap should I choose for a countertop basin?

For a countertop basin, you can usually choose either a tall basin tap or a wall mounted tap, depending on the basin style, vanity unit, pipework and overall look you want. A tall basin tap is often simpler to fit, while wall mounted taps give a more minimal, designed finish. The right choice depends on the basin height, vanity unit, pipework and bathroom style.

What's the difference between deck mounted taps vs wall mounted taps and tall basin taps?

The main difference between deck mounted, wall mounted and tall basin taps is where the tap is fitted.

Deck mounted taps are fitted directly onto the basin, bath or worktop. They are one of the most common and practical options for bathroom sinks and baths.

Wall mounted taps are fitted into the wall above the basin or bath, creating a cleaner, more minimal look. They are often used in modern bathrooms, but they need more planning because the pipework is hidden inside the wall.

Tall basin taps are usually used with countertop basins. They are fitted onto the vanity unit or worktop, but they are taller than a standard basin tap so the water can comfortably reach into the bowl. The best choice depends on your basin or bath style, pipework, bathroom layout and the look you want to create.

What is a floor standing tap?

A floor standing tap is usually used with a freestanding bath. It is fixed to the floor beside the bath and can create a statement feature in larger bathrooms or more luxurious bathroom designs.

What taps work with a freestanding bath?

For a freestanding bath, you can usually choose floor standing bath taps or wall mounted bath taps. Floor standing taps are fitted beside the bath and create a statement look, while wall mounted taps are fitted into the wall for a cleaner finish. Deck mounted taps only work if the freestanding bath is designed with tap holes or a suitable ledge.
